Learning Effect
Theory of the teaching materials, teaching effect and reference are compiled in this page.
3 Step System is a teaching method which collects the knowledge of cognitive science, system science and phonetic science from interdisciplinary and synthetic aspects and systematically combining them into one theory.
The system is designed to let human learners; especially Japanese learners to learn English as a foreign language efficiently.
The bar graph shows the average score improvement of 7 different groups of learners who had used the 3 Step System for four months and were grouped according to their pretest scores.
In the bar graph below, we could interpret the teaching using the materials based on the 3 Step System (3 Step System theory) as being suitable for learners with TOEFL-PBT scores ranging from 443 to 630, meaning that the system is suitable for learners of all levels.
TOEFL-PBT Score Improvement
As seen from the bar graph, there is a general tendency for lower scores improvement for learners with higher pretest scores. It is not rare for those learners with higher pretest scores to not gaining any improvements or seeing a decline in their test scores by using the traditional method.
By using the 3 Step System, not only the listening skill, but other skill would also improve as can be seen from the bar graph below. The bar graph shows the average score improvement for every section of the TOEFL-PBT
Although the materials were designed to cultivate the listening skills to prepare for the Listening Comprehension part, we could also see great improvements in Section 2: Structure and Written Expression and Section 3: Reading Comprehension.
